Wills and Probate
A will is an essential responsibility that shouldn’t be ignored. Your will can be used in many different ways, it isn’t just about your estate, or establishing who legally gets what. You can use your will to appoint legal guardians for your children and to give specific instructions to your guardians, your executors and the trustees of your will.
Your will doesn’t have be complicated but it must be specific and accurate and is best prepared by your solicitor.
It may well be that you need legal advice on the most appropriate way to draw up your will, or perhaps you’ve been appointed executor of a will and need help to carry out your responsibilities. Your will may need to be changed
Your will, completed correctly, can last you a lifetime, however, there may be a time when you should review and perhaps revise it. Such as, after a divorce, if you get remarried and maybe following a bereavement. It might be that your financial circumstances change substantially, giving rise to a need for change. If you have children born after your will was prepared you should revise it, or it may be that you simply change your mind about what you want to happen following your passing.
